Sho-Rate™
Glass Tube Variable Area Flow Meters
Reliable, Configurable Flow Measurement for Gas and Liquid Applications
The Sho-Rate™ Series provides reliable visual flow measurement for clean gases and liquids across laboratory, analytical, OEM and industrial applications. Multiple models provide a choice of accuracy, flow range, scale length and control options to match your application.
Choose Sho-Rate 1350, 1355 and 1358 models for configurable scales and optional valves, flow controllers and alarms. Sho-Rate 1250 and 1255 models offer a durable, cost-effective design with easy-change tube assemblies and a rotating magnifying lens, making them well suited for OEM and analyzer integration.
Features & Benefits
- Reliable, Repeatable Flow Measurement: Accuracy options from ±3% to ±10% full scale, with repeatability as low as 0.25% full scale depending on model.
- Clear, Easy-to-Read Indication: Magnified viewing and direct-read scale options make it easy to monitor flow at a glance.
- Flexible Material Options: Borosilicate glass metering tubes and multiple float materials support a wide range of gas and liquid applications.
- Integrated Flow Control Options: Optional needle valves and flow controllers can be mounted at the inlet or outlet on select models to add flow control without a separate assembly.
- Optional Flow Alarms: Single or dual inductive ring sensors with an intrinsically safe relay provide additional process monitoring on select 1350, 1355 and 1358 configurations.
- Easy Servicing and Configuration: Interchangeable tube assemblies on select models simplify maintenance and provide flexibility when application requirements change.
- OEM-Friendly Design: Multiple scale, connection and valve options support analyzer systems, panel mounting and application-specific equipment designs.

Flow Insights
When Pressure Fluctuations Make a Variable Area Flow Meter Hard to Read
A bouncing float can make a variable area flow meter difficult to read. Learn why changing pressure conditions can affect flow indication and how integrating flow control with a compatible Sho-Rate® flow meter can help maintain more stable flow while minimizing installation footprint.
