FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus Transmitter Enables Easier Integration with Control Systems
6/2/2020

Now that the MT3809 flow meter is disassembled, let’s review how to remove and mount the transmitters. If you need a refresher on steps one through five, click here for a review.

Step 6: Remove the HART Transmitter

Use the screwdriver to remove the screws in each of the four corners. Then, go ahead and remove the transmitter.

Step 7: Mount the FF Transmitter

Replace the transmitter and use the screwdriver to tighten all four screws in each of the corners.

Step 8: Connect the Wiring Again

Connect the FF wiring to the terminal strip (refer to :41 in the video for a complete diagram). It is important to note that for FF, connect the wiring to pp11(+) and 13 (-). The FF wiring is different for HART. If helpful, watch how I thread and secure the wiring throughout the Transmitter Terminal Strip at :45 in the video. Finally, mount the terminal strip.

Step 9: Mount the Needle

Set the needle and tighten the screw underneath.

Steps 10 and 11: Connect the LCD Flatcable and Mount the Top Scale

Connect the LCD flatcable and mount the top scale. Be sure the washers are on top of the scale. Then, tighten the select screws.
