Backflow Alarm: Notifies Operator When Bioprocess Liquid or Gas Accidentally Flows Backwards to the Mass Flow Controller

Enabled by the combination of digital mass flow controllers (MFCs) and Ethernet-based network protocols, the backflow alarm ensures proper flow through the MFC. It notifies the operator to stop the process because the bioprocess liquid got pushed backwards through the flow path to the MFC. This happens when pressure inside the vessel gets so great that it overcomes the positive pressure through the MFC.
